Magnificent natural and historic environment
Pálos Resort is situated between green hills, on the edge of a forest, far away from the noise of cities and traffic, on a 10-hectare family estate in Zalacsány-Örvényeshegy. In 2018, Pálos Resort was ranked among the 28 best accomodations in Europe, winning the International Hospitality Awards in the Best Etno Hotel category. We have created our accommodation in a traditional Hungarian, rustic but convenient style and have used the local craft motifs in its furnishings.
Our houses are located in an area of historical importance. In the 1200s the central monastery of the Pauline Order was built here, which flourished until the 1600s.
Attractions and recreation
We have our own fallow deers, their area can be explored on a stream bank path. In our forest view garden, a large playground and giant trampoline await the children. Our adult playground with billiards, table football and ping pong table are on our wine terrace. Our wine cellar offers the best wines and “pálinka” (local brandy) in the area. There are several thermal baths in the surrounding villages, and an 18 hole championship golf course 5 minutes drive from us.
From spring to autumn we organize guided e-bike tours between the hills of Zala, for which we provide our own MTB e-bikes for our guests. We advertise our programs on our Facebook page - more information here!
Our fallow deer and our garden
Our deer come out of their forest resting place every evening before sunset to enjoy their favorite delicacies. They enjoy apples and pears the most, but they also love fresh carrots and salads.
Sun loungers and hammocks between the trees and on the terraces help You relax comfortably. The evening wine tasting is accompanied by soft music and infinite bird songs at sunset.

Gastronomy
One of the TOP 5 restaurants in Zala County (according to Gault & Millau) is located right next to us. Farm Inn Restaurant is 300 meters from us, a few minutes ’walk away. There are many excellent restaurants in and around Zalacsány, which we present in detail - here.
Our accommodation is a station of the Zala Wine Route Association, on our terraces it is possible to taste the finest wines of the area. We can give directions to the nearby wine cellars. We are members of the Zala Valley Open Porta network, our guests have the opportunity to get to know and visit and taste their local products with the help of maps and brochures: taste goat cheese, mangalica (pig) products, juices, jams, honeys, brandies.
Tours
For nature lovers, this area is a real Paradise. In our immediate surroundings, we have marked several hiking and cycling routes on a map that can be followed on a mobile phone, but we can also show the regional excursion routes in brochures and on a printed map.
We have our own off-road e-bike fleet, we regularly organize guided tours for our guests, we advertise the events on our Facebook page. In winter, it is even possible to kayak in the hot water Hévíz stream.

Our events
Grammy-winning Al Di Meola, one of the best guitarists in the world, opened the Örvényeshegy Picnic, which debuted in 2018 at the Pálos Resort. The three-day festival awaited everyone with concerts, theater, literature and wines on our forest-edge stages. Video of the 2018 festival here
